Alfonso Jiminez

After several years as international scholar (working at US, UK and Australia), Professor Jiménez (PhD, CSCS, NSCA-CPT, FLF) is currently full Professor of exercise science (nationally accredited status as Catedratico by ANECA in Spain), Dean of the faculty of health, exercise and sports science at European University of Madrid and main academic leader of the Real Madrid international school of graduate studies. He is visiting Professor and international research associate at ISEAL, Victoria University in Melbourne, where he is chairing the scientific advisory board of the research programme of Fitness Australia, and visiting Professor at the University of Greenwich (UK) where he was co-founder and director of the UKActive research institute, and currently member of its scientific advisory board. Professor Jimenez received an honorary membership from EHFA for his service as Chairman of the standards council from 2009 to 2012. His research interests focus in the areas of health and fitness, clinical exercise, resistance training, active living and worksite health promotion, having led and managed as principal investigator 27 competitive research and consultancy projects with a total funding allocation exceeding £1,5 million.
